The Saint Joseph Cathedral Music Department offers a rich tradition of excellence in liturgical music that enhances the worship experience for those who enter our historic Cathedral. A typical program of choral music may be downloaded here.

Saint Joseph Cathedral Choir

Our calling:
We are God’s people: People from all walks of life who serve God as ministers in music, who enjoy singing music of a traditional nature. The service of this choir is not to be taken lightly, but rather with commitment and dedication. We are a royal priesthood, gathered not only to sing, but also to grow in faith and love toward God and one another.

Our purpose:
To glorify God with all that we are;
To minister to our fellows that Christ be glorified in their worship lives;
To be supportive in our common liturgical experience;
To open the minds of our fellow parishioners to musical expressions of greater vision and depth

Our rehearsal:
Wednesday evenings, 6:30 - 8:00 in the Cathedral Parish Hall. We rehearse from the first Wednesday in September that follows Labor Day through the feast of Corpus Christi.

Our service:
The Cathedral Choir is in residence for every 10:00 a.m. Choral Eucharist during the year from September through the feast of Corpus Christi. The choir presents a concert at Christmas preceding the Mass at Midnight. Our chamber choir, the Cathedral Gallery Singers, often sings for special liturgies and diocesan events such as ordinations, the Chrism Mass and other services throughout the year.

Our fellowship:
The music department has frequent social gatherings and parties throughout the year where our members can come together and share in fellowship activities.
