Advent: A Time of Preparation

Catholics do not celebrate Christmas in a hurried, materialistic, secular way. Instead we follow the Biblical imperative to "Prepare the Way of the Lord" with purpose and prayer.

Lenten Stations of the Cross

Date Published: 2017-04-07

On each Lenten Friday, at 11:30 am, the Parish of St. Joseph Cathedral prayerfully accompanies Christ Jesus along His "Way of the Cross." Everyone is invited to come and pray these devotions -- using the words of the Bible itself to highlight both His sufferings and our response -- as a way of feeling more intensely our union in faith with Christ our Redeemer.

The beautiful mosaic Stations of the Cross in the Cathedral capture well both the pains of the Passion and the dignity with which Jesus bore His humiliation and death. They and printed aids are there for private "Way of the Cross" devotions for our parishioners, friends and visitors whenever the church building is open.
